Are You Sick of Internet Marketing Scams Too?
I am sick of internet marketing scams. All I see just lately are rehashed products, promoted as if they are the answer to all your money problems. Just push a button and voila, money will come pouring into your Clickbank, Paypal or whatever account you have with virtually no work involved.
Just who do they think they are kidding? I will tell you who.
Desperate buyers.
The thousands of desperate newbies to internet marketing who are struggling to understand how it all works and need real information, not out-of-date advice and crappy software that doesn’t even work. Or maybe the not-so-newbie who has tried everything to make money and has failed miserably.
In both cases, desperation is the main motivation for buying money making products. Trust me, I have been there. My hard drive is testament to my follies, full of stuff that was a total waste of money.
And,the fact is, many of the make money online products you see peddled are from people who are not even using the stuff they sell because it doesn’t really work and they know it.
Just think about it for a second…
Honestly, why would they need to sell it for a few dollars if they were making so much money already, going by their claims? It just doesn’t add up when you think about it, does it? Claiming to earn ten or hundreds of thousands and then putting so much effort in to create an internet marketing product that will only bring in a few thousand dollars in most cases.
I know if I was earning ten of thousands from a particular method I would keep it to myself until it was no longer working. And that is what some of them are selling. Stuff that no longer works. After all, why would anyone want to kill the goose that lays the golden egg?
Then again, some are selling internet marketing information that still works but dressing it up to make it seem like it’s something new and exciting. How many of these type of products have you bought and then realised you have already seen it all before?
Why do we buy IM products?
Many of us still buy internet marketing products (despite our misgivings as to the veracity of claims) because we are often curious about what they contain, or are afraid of missing out on something that might make us financially secure. Curiousity and fear of loss are two of the strongest motivations and can make us do things we will regret later.
We see the earnings claims and don’t want to lose the chance of making money like that. Let’s face it, when money problems arise, who can resist spending a few measly dollars on something that could get us out of a financial hole? It reminds me of gambling in a way, taking chances on a longshot.
Always Ask For A Refund If You Aren’t Satisfied.
Thankfully, satisfying our curiousity or fear of missing out need not cost us financially as most IM products have a money-back guarantee. If the product doesn’t meet your expectations just ask for a refund. I have done that a few times but only when the product is particularly dire. If it provides good information then I am all too happy to pay for it, even if I don’t put it to immediate use.
It’s not all bad though.
To be honest, there is still a lot of good stuff coming out but it is lost in the noise generated by the internet marketing crowd. Personally, I tend to buy software tools and information from people that I know and can trust. Most of this is not the hyped up stuff you see in your inbox every day.
Some of it is quite exclusive in fact, which make it all the more useful as it doesn’t get too overexposed and then become useless. It doesn’t get launched to a fanfare of trumpets by a gazillion JV partners all trying to make a quick buck on something they haven’t even seen, let alone used.
Finally…
I will end this by saying that I don’t update this blog as much as I would like as I am busy on other stuff but I just felt the urge to say something about the state of internet marketing as regards ‘how to make money online’ products. I wrote this totally off the cuff as it came into my head so forgive me if seems a bit over the top.
